The Detroit Future Youth Network’s Curriculum Mixtape is a compilation of workshops and media developed by each of the twelve DFY partner organizations. The USB Mixtape highlights media created by youth, with a curriculum book of accompanying lesson plans that were co-designed by youth leaders and their adult allies. The workshops and media contained on the Mixtape cover a wide range of issues and skills from a youth-led, media based, and social justice movement perspective
Detroit Summer will be participating in the Microfest this year. Make sure you come by and check out our workshop at Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit.

The AMC or best own as the Allied Media Conference offers hands-on trainings and strategy sessions in a wide-range of media practices. The 14th annual Allied Media Conference was June 28 – July 1, 2012 in Detroit.Through the AMC, held every summer in Detroit, unite the worlds of media, art, technology, education and social justice. Participants build knowledge and relationships that continue to grow throughout the year.

This workshop is based on interviews that detroit summer conducted.

during that process we explained detroit summer and played a game called the question game and we also based the questions around youth self image.we then used those answers from the game to use an interview. then we asked the audience to creatively impress their self which led to the youth take over screen printing workshop where we showed the audience how to screen print.
WHERE DID DETROIT SUMMER STAY AT DURING THE AMC??
Detroit summer stayed at the wane state campus with the dfy or better known as Detroit future youth team.
IS THE AMC ALL WORK AND NO PLAY??
Of corse not Detroit summer had a fun and education experience. The amc is full of different people from all over the world and is full of parties and that is very cool.
